I offer two basic presentations:

The Room of Wonders
After a reading of my picture book "The Room of Wonders," I talk about how that story came to life, showing sketches and finished art. Then the children are invited to show their favorite objects and talk about them.

How a Picture Book Comes to Life
With this presentation I explain simply but thoroughly the various stages in the creation of a picture book, from the idea to the published work. I bring in sketches, dummies, proofs and finished art. Then the children are asked to tell about their own ideas and we discuss how to make those ideas into books.

I am also available to hold teacher workshops in one or more sessions.
