One of the pleasure of being a children’s book author and illustrator is meeting my readers. That’s why I am happy to visit schools and libraries. In my visits, the children learn about the process of writing and illustrating, and are enthusiastically encouraged to create their own stories.

Here is a note from Amy Johnson at Hanna Woods Elementary School, St. Louis, Missouri:
The second graders in Mrs. Mask’s class had the pleasure of “meeting” Sergio Ruzzier via a Skype video call. After reading several of Mr. Ruzzier’s books through an author study in communication arts, the students formulated questions about the books, the writing process, and what it is like to be an author and illustrator. The opportunity to have their questions answered firsthand was an invaluable learning experience.
